Technical Ceramics: Reshaping the Possible in Electric Vehicles

Components manufactured from technical ceramics are helping to advance electric vehicle technologies. These high-performance materials can help extend system life, improve range, and increase safety in battery electric and hybrid vehicle applications.

This 60-minute Webinar provides a brief overview of technical ceramic material properties and how they can outperform metals and polymers in EVs. It also includes a technical discussion of the following types of components and their advantages in e-mobility applications:

  • Silicon nitride bearing balls and rolling elements for EV motor shafts
  • High thermal conductivity substrates for power electronic modules and device packaging
  • Technical ceramic engineered components, including high-voltage battery packs, traction motor cooling systems, and high-voltage connection points (inlets, busbars, relays, etc.)

The in-depth discussion examines how using these unique and highly customizable materials in e-mobility systems can enable cutting-edge technologies.

An audience Q&A follows the technical presentation.
