Kontron (Poway, CA) has announced the Kontron Barracuda Human Machine Interface (HMI) family of products suitable for use in military command, control, communications, and computers where a display or workstation must be able to withstand vehicle shock and vibration.
The Kontron Barracuda is available in two configurations. The Kontron Barracuda DS offers a militaryhardened Mil-Std 810F and Protection Classification IP65-compliant daylightreadable touch-screen display. The Kontron Barracuda WS provides an Intel® Pentium™ M processor workstation that offers a removable hard drive or Compact Flash storage device. The HMI family offers a sunlightreadable 15" XGA display, is operational in a 0°C to 50°C environment, and offers a -30°C option for use in low temperature extremes. Optional waterand dust-tight circular military-rated connectors allow for harsh environment connectivity. It also features an optional modular AC/DC sealed power supply and an optional built-in high gain wireless antenna.
