16-bit A/D Transient Recorder PCI Cards
Strategic Test (Woburn, MA) has released six new Transient Recorder cards in the UF2- 4700 series. Using multiple 16-bit ADC's for true simultaneous sampling, the UF2-4700 cards are available with a choice of maximum sampling rates of 100 kS/s, 250 kS/s, and 500 kS/s, and come in 8- or 16- channel configurations. Each channel contains an independent amplifier that allows the user to program it with the voltage range to best match each sensor. Eight ranges are provided from ±50 mV to ±10 V. A self-calibration feature ensures the removal of any DC offsets prior to recording. Based on the new PCI-X (66 MHz/32-it PCI) bus-based UF2 series carrier card, these cards can continuously transfer data to the host PC at up to 112 mega samples (225 Mbyte) per second.
It also allows continuous recording for hours to hard disks set up in a RAID configuration at up to 105 mega samples per second. The Star Hub option allows up to 16 cards in a single industrial PC to be configured as a synchronous system. It also allows synchronizing of up to 271 cards in up to 16 PCs, giving over 4000 simultaneous channels, all sharing the same clock. Additionally, the UF2-4700 cards offer a wide range of triggering possibilities including level, window, pulse-width, re-arm and double triggers as well as an external TTL trigger input. Drivers for Microsoft Windows XP and XP64 (64-bit) and Linux (32-bit and 64-bit) are supplied together with free downloads of future OS version drivers such as Windows Vista.
