Digital Filtering Development Tool (Quickfilter Technologies)

A new development tool from Quickfilter Technologies (Allen, TX) is designed to simplify the task of adding precision digital filtering to designs based on the Texas Instruments (TI) MSP430 ultra-low-power microcontrollers. The MSP-Mojo enables quick implementation of precision digital filtering through an embedded singlechannel precision digital filter chip, the QF1D512 Simple and Versatile FIR engine (SavFIRe™). Until now, a high level of filtering performance would have required migrating from the low-power MSP430 microcontroller to a higher-powered controller such as a digital signal processor (DSP) or a field programmable gate array (FPGA).

The Quickfilter MSP-Mojo has been designed as a plug-in target board for the TI eZ430- F2013 MSP430 USB Stick Development Tool. It features a MSP430F2013 MCU and a QF1D512 SavFIRe chip, along with an input jack for connecting an analog input signal source. An expansion header (header pins included) allows for connection to a user's target system, application breadboard, or the QF1D512-DK Development Kit.

The development tool from TI allows both new users to evaluate the MSP430 MCU architecture and also gives experienced developers all the resources they need to complete an entire MSP430F20xx project from start to finish.
