Cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) adoption is up across aerospace & defense (A&D), energy, engineering, manufacturing, and field service globally. The increased interest has also contributed to global enterprise applications company IFS’s growth. The business has seen double-digit growth under the leadership of CEO Darren Roos, with Q3 2019 marking the sixth straight quarter above 20 percent.

“Our topline growth does not come from extracting revenue from our installed base through tactics like compliance audits,” Roos says. “On the contrary, we are winning half our license revenues from new customers." He credits the company's proposition that offers customers "choice and a focus on real customer value.”

The company’s strategic growth markets also saw double-digit increases in license revenues (YTD Jan-Sept. 2019), with aerospace & defense growing 41% and service management up 66%. These gains were ushered in following the appointment in early 2018 of Roos, who recruited talent from well-known technology brands, such as SAP, Oracle, Software AG, and Hewlett Packard, company officials say. The business has also undergone major transformations over the last 18 months, from a fragmented business to one that has more focus to grow globally and scale quickly.
