Laser Glass
SCHOTT North America (Arlington, VA) offers LG-910 eye-safe laser glass products for operation at 1.5 μm, including rods, slabs, and discs with high-laser-damage-threshold dielectric coatings. Applications include ranging and targeting on handheld, ground, fixed-wing, and rotary platforms. The glass is an erbium-ytterbium-chromium doped phosphate-based laser glass. Phosphate glasses offer higher solubility of rare earth dopants, increasing the amount of active ions. The company offers glass components fully finished and coated to customer specification, as polishing and coating can impact laser performance.
