Multicore RTOS

Green Hills Software (Santa Barbara, CA) announced that the INTEGRITY®-178 tuMP™ multicore real-time operating system (RTOS) is the first operating system to be part of a multicore certification to RCTA/DO-178C and CAST-32A. The certification is part of a Technical Standing Order (TSO) authorization for CMC Electronics’ PU-3000 Avionics Computer, and the TSO submission included evidence of meeting all CAST-32A requirements for multicore processors. INTEGRITY-178 tuMP is a multicore RTOS with support for running a multithreaded DAL A application across multiple processor cores in symmetric multi-processing (SMP) or bound multi-processing (BMP) configurations, as well as supporting the more basic asymmetric multi-processing (AMP).

4D Imaging Radar Sensors

Oculii (Dayton, OH) announced the launch of FALCON and EAGLE, the world’s highest-resolution commercial 4D imaging radar sensors. Oculii’s AI-powered Virtual Aperture Imaging platform dynamically sends out an adaptive, phase-modulated waveform that changes in real time with the environment and then encodes that data over time, increasing the resolution of any radar hardware up to 100X. This improved resolution and sensitivity enables all-weather sub-degree horizontal and elevation spatial resolution up to 350 meters around a full 360° field of view. EAGLE delivers joint 0.5° H × 1° V spatial resolution across a wide 120° H / 30° V instantaneous field of view. FALCON delivers high-resolution performance in a 5cm × 5cm package that is smaller than a business card.

PCIe SoC Platforms

TECHWAY (Villebon-sur-Yvette, France) announced new PCIe SoC platforms with an FMC+ site, called PFP-ZU+ that are based on Xilinx MPSoC devices. The platforms are 100% compliant with the FMC+ standard, and PFP-ZU+ fit all VITA 57.1 and VITA57.4 mezzanine cards. Thanks to this compliance, PFP-ZU+ can serve any protocols and interfaces. As a multi-purpose board, PFP-ZU+ is a “swiss-knife” for real-time applications. PFP-ZU+ features the Xilinx ZU7CG and ZU11EG devices to optimize performance/price ratio for high-end applications. Useful features include a fully FMC+ site, DDR4 and RLDRAM2 memories, and a management system. With the Arm processor, users can access multiples interfaces, such as Ethernet, DisplayPort, and USB, allowing the design of standalone equipment easily. Positive Slope Equalizers

Fairview Microwave Inc. (Irvine, CA), an Infinite Electronics brand, has just released a new line of positive slope equalizers which exhibit a fixed attenuation response that increases linearly over broadband frequencies. These equalizers are ideal in compensating for gain variation and optimizing performance in systems where excessive losses may occur at the low end of the frequency band. Fairview Microwave’s new series of positive slope equalizers are made up of 18 models that cover octave and broadband frequencies from 500 MHz to 40 GHz. These 50-ohm designs are specified with fixed equalizing values that range from 2 to 8 dB, feature low insertion loss levels of 1 dB to 3 dB, and have high CW input power handling up to +30 dBm (1 watt).

(Fairport, NY) introduced the Teledyne LeCroy T3AWG3252 Multifunctional 16-bit Arbitrary/Function Generators designed with an innovative architecture that features synchronized analog signal and digital pattern generation. This multifunction 250 MHz arbitrary/sweep/function generator combines multiple functions in a single instrument, including a two-channel function and arbitrary waveform generator with an eight-channel digital pattern generator. 3D Simulation Platform

CENIT (Stuttgart, Germany) introduced the new release “R2020.7” of its FASTSUITE E2 software. The latest version offers widely expanded functions that, among other benefits, provide efficient tools for closing the digital gaps between design, simulation, engineering and production. The new release “R2020.7” of FASTSUITE E2 closes the gap between engineering and production planning. Functions such as geometry comparisons between component versions permit users to manage the entire lifecycle of products and workpieces during an automation project, including design changes and variants. The release also features greater ease of use in generating product assemblies, particularly regarding layouts with multiple operation sequences and stations. Open Flashloader for RISC-V System

SEGGER (Monheim am Rhein, Germany) just released a new Open Flashloader for RISC-V systems. The template, which can be adjusted to fit any RISC-V system, allows engineers to write flash loaders that fit into just 2kB of RAM. This enables J-Link debug probes to download directly and easily into the flash memory of a RISC-V microcontroller or SoC. These flash loaders work with any software supporting J-Link, from simple command line programs such as J-Link Commander, to debuggers such as GDB or SEGGER's Ozone, or more production-oriented utilities such as J-Flash, and development tools such as Embedded Studio. The J-Link GDB Server enables the use of GDB, Eclipse and any debugger supporting the GDB protocol. When debugging with the J-Link Plus, Ultra+ or PRO models, an unlimited number of breakpoints in flash memory are available.

Bimetallic Face-Seal Fittings

Using proprietary and state-of-the-art explosion bonding technology, new bimetallic fittings from Atlas Technologies (Port Townsend, WA) have a highly durable stainless-steel sealing face that is explosive bonded to an aluminum body for weld up to an aluminum tube. They are fully compatible with their all-stainless Swagelock VCR® and Parker Hannifin VacuSeal™ counterparts. Features of the ATCR face-seal fittings include mechanical interface strength equaling 15,000 psi tensile and 10,000 psi shear. While the body is made of aluminum, the seal-face is stainless steel. The nut can be aluminum or stainless steel. Fittings are available in butt weld, male weld, socket weld, or chamber mount configurations in sizes of ¼-, 3/8-, ½-, ¾-, and 1-inch tube diameters. Chamber mount fittings are available in configurations suitable for ½-, ¾-, 1-, and 1 ¼-inch chamber wall thicknesses.

KyronMAX compounds can be used to replace steel in a structural component.
