The U.S. Air Force has selected Cambium Networks’ pointto- point (PTP) 45600 High Capacity Line-of-Sight (HCLOS) radio for its Theater Deployable Communications program of record (TDC PMO). Supported by General Dynamics, TDC PMO will replace its legacy Radio Frequency Module (RFM) backhaul radio with Cambium’s PTP 45600 HCLOS technology, providing secure voice, video, and data functions for both deployable warfighters and first response missions.
The TDC PMO communications network enables Air Force units to transmit information rapidly via wireless, satellite, or wireline systems. A central goal of the TDC program is to provide the latest Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) technologies in cases that can be rapidly deployed anywhere in the world. The tools are tailored to meet specific military contingencies, while reducing airlift and manpower requirements. Selected, vetted, and tested as part of USAF Electronic Service Center’s (ESC) Innovative Challenge, the PTP 45600 further elevates the range and throughput performance for TDC PMO terrestrial communications. The PTP 45600 provides high connectivity and backhaul in high-interference and non-line-of-sight environments.
