RADA Electronic Industries Ltd., a company that specializes in the development and production of tactical land radar for force and border protection, recently announced that following the announcement by General Dynamics of a positive Army Requirements’ Oversight Council (AROC) decision, Phase II of the Iron Fist Light (IFL) Active Protection System (APS) for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle is moving forward. The project is a joint venture between General Dynamics’ subsidiary, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, together with Israel Military Industries (IMI), which was recently acquired by Elbit Systems. RADA is the provider of the radars to the Elbit/IMI IFL system.

WOLF Advanced Technology (“WOLF”) recently announced that NASA has chosen two WOLF video graphics modules to take part in the development of NASA's X-59 Quiet SuperSonic Technology (QueSST) aircraft. Now under construction by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company at its famed Skunk Works plant in Palmdale, California, the X-59 is designed to reduce the noise generated by a sonic boom. Once fully tested and pronounced safe to fly within the National Airspace, the X-59 in late 2022 will begin making supersonic flights over select communities to measure residents’ reactions to any noise they might hear.

At the end of 2018, MBDA successfully demonstrated the use of the Mistral missile against fast boats such as FIACs (Fast Inshore Attack Craft). A number of foreign delegations attended the demonstration firing that was performed from a SIMBAD-RC automated naval turret firing from the land against a fast moving remotely-controlled semi-rigid boat more than 3 kilometers off the coast. The scenario was intended to be representative of the self-protection of a vessel against an asymmetric threat (commando or terrorist attack).
