New Avionics Corp (Ft Lauderdale, FL) has introduced its next- generation new Ice*Meister™ Model 9732-PLASTIC ice detecting sensor for aircraft. Consisting of a probe, housing, circuit board, and lightweight blue cable, the unit has been tested at NASA Glenn, the world’s largest icing wind tunnel, and complies with defacto in-flight ice-detection standard SAE AS 5498.

Dual A/D Converter FMC

VadaTech (Henderson, NV) has released a new analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for RADAR, SIGINT, wireless infrastructure, RF Sampling SDR, and other applications. The FMC226 is a dual ADC, 12-bit at 4.0 GSPS module. The compact FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) plugs into any VITA 57 compliant board, including VadaTech’s numerous FPGA carriers. The analog input, clock input and trigger inputs of the FMC226 are routed via SSMC connectors. The internal clock frequency is programmable and the clock is capable of locking to an external reference. An ultra-low noise wideband Phased Locked Loop (PLL) on the FMC226 provides precision timing and clean signals.

26-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch

Diamond Systems Corporation (Mountain View, CA) recently unveiled the Epsilon-24000 family of gigabit Ethernet switches. These rugged, managed Layer 2+ Ethernet switch modules offer up to 24 10/100/1000 Mbps copper twisted pair ports plus two small form factor pluggable (SFP) sockets in the compact PC/104 form factor measuring 4.5 x 3.8 inches (96 x 116 mm). Two models of the switch are available: The EPS-24016 includes 16 10/100/1000 copper ports, and the EPS-24026 contains 24 10/100/1000 ports plus 2 SFP sockets. Both models use a conduction cooling heat spreader for efficient thermal dissipation and mounting to the system enclosure. A heat sink accessory is also available.

Anritsu Company (Morgan Hill, CA) has expanded its Shock-Line™ family of vector network analyzers (VNAs) with the introduction of the Performance ShockLine MS46500B series. The MS46500B series is comprised of the 2-port MS46522B and 4-port MS46524B models, and expands the ShockLine family to a broader spectrum of RF test applications. Each instrument features an independent source per VNA port, and all the sources can sweep at the same time for measurement of forward and reverse s-parameters simultaneously. This unique Simultaneous Sweep feature allows 2-port measurements to be conducted twice as fast and 4-port measurements 4x as fast.
